Adrian McEwen got to kick off the Society of Chief Librarian’s Cracking the Code event at Manchester Central Library by giving the keynote address.

The day consisted of a series of talks, panel discussions and workshops to help librarians get to grips with coding, the maker movement and the possibilities for bringing digital - in all its forms - into libraries.

Rather than pre-empt the day’s programme, he took the opportunity to take a view one-step-removed and think about how a digitally-native library might look.
